Marines Concert - Usher Hall, in aid of the Seafarers UK
I'm delighted that, this year, we will once again be performing in concert with the Band of HM Marines, in the Usher Hall, in aid of the Seafarers UK charity - and I'm hoping that you will all wish to take part!
EDGAS has been performing with the Band in these concerts for almost 30 years, and, after our shows in the Church Hill and King's Theatres, they are the most high-profile events in our calendar.
As you will see from the rehearsal schedule on our website, we will be rehearsing on Monday evenings on 28th October, and 4th, 11th and 18th November (all in Pilrig St Paul's Hall), and with the Band in its HQ, in Rosyth, on Tuesday, 19th November (a coach will take us there and back).
On the night of the concert, we will have a short rehearsal in the Usher Hall, between 6.00pm and 6.30pm, with the performance at 7.30pm.
Full details and timings will be provided nearer the time.
I'm working with the Band's Director of Music, Captain Steve Green, on the programme, and I'm confident that we will create one that you will love singing (including "A Life on the Ocean Wave", in its customary, far-too-high-for-comfort key!), and that will delight our audience.
These concerts are always hugely enjoyable, and we play to a large audience, so we need to muster our maximum forces for the occasion, to sound and look our best.
