David Vivanco

Biography taken from 2001 (The Mikado) programme:

Born to mark the Queen’s silver jubilee in 1977, David Vivanco has always loved to sing.  His first experience of Gilbert & Sullivan was playing ‘the defendant’ in a school production of Trial By Jury at the age of ten.  All credit must go to Miss Littlejohn, senior teacher at what was then London St. Primary School, Edinburgh, for directing thirty restless children and playing the accompaniment alone on the school piano.  She commanded respect and is remembered with fondness.

This encouraging debut ensured David’s continued interest in vocal performance and as a member of the school choir, he often sang solo during his six years at George Heriot’s School.  1995 saw him as a member of the Aberystwyth University Madrigal Singers (standing him in good stead for playing his part in The Mikado).  He has also performed in the Fringe and with The Edinburgh University Renaissance Singers and Bel Canto chamber choir.
