Harry Payne

Biography taken from 1995 (Patience) programme:

Harry Payne has sung G & S roles with various companies. After studying in the USA, where he played the Lord Chancellor in a university production of Iolanthe, he returned to this country. In 1974 he appeared in the Society's production of The Mikado understudying the role of Pish-Tush. A year later, he became a founder member of the Forth Valley Gilbert & Sullivan Society with whom he sang many of the principal baritone roles. On returning to the Society, he understudied the role of Lord Dramaleigh in our 1993 production of Utopia Ltd. Harry plays the viola and is organist at St Peter's Church, Linlithgow.
