John McElwee

Biography taken from 1995 (Patience) programme:

John McElwee's interest in G & S stems from his student days at St Andrews where he appeared in the chorus of Ruddigore and lolanthe. John has moved round the country with his job and appeared in Fiddler on the Roof in Inverness and The Gondoliers, Oklahoma and The Pirates of Penzance with Barnes and Richmond Operatic Society in London. Now back in Edinburgh, as a Regional Financial Manager with Marks & Spencer, Patience is John's fifth show with the Society. His first principal role was Tarara in our recent production of Utopia Ltd. John studies music with Margaret Aronson.
