Susan appeared in her first stage role as The Plaintiff in Gilbert & Sullivan's Trial by Jury in 1974. She has since played most of the soprano roles from the Savoy Operas in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Borders. This will be her third show with the company having played Gianetta in The Gondoliers and Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore in the past. She enjoys singing in a variety of styles and has been lucky to have played in musicals, operettas and grand opera, from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Benjamin Britten. Her favourite role, so far, has been Carmen, as it combined singing and acting. She also enjoys taking part in plays. Originally from Glasgow, she has lived in Lauder for the past fourteen years.
